33 How rich and deep are the wisdom and the knowledge of God! We cannot reach to the root of his decisions or his ways.
34 Who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser?
35 Who has given anything to him, so that his presents come only as a debt returned?
36 Everything there is comes from him and is caused by him and exists for him. To him be glory for ever! Amen.

The ideal of Christian nobility
Today we celebrate St. Bernard of Clairvaux. He was the ' Doctor of the Church'. At the 800th anniversary of his death, Pope Pius XII issued an encyclical on Bernard, Doctor Mellifluus, in which he labeled him The Last of the Fathers." Bernard did not reject human philosophy which is genuine philosophy, which leads to God; he differentiates between different kinds of knowledge, the highest being theological. Three central elements of Bernard's mariology are: how he explained the virginity of Mary, the "Star of the Sea", how the faithful should pray on the Virgin Mary, and how he relied on the Virgin Mary as Mediatrix.

Nine thousand beautiful souls
We don't have to be a saint to make a difference. We just need courage to help. We don't have to change the world, but we can make a difference in our community. Today Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity in Central Iowa is celebrating 25 years. The organization has 9.000 volunteers with beautiful souls.
"The prodigy of his age"
Today we celebrate the life of St. John Eudes, founder of the Congregation og Jesus and Mary and the Sisters of Our lady of Charity of The Refuge. St. John Eudes wrote Propers for Mass and Divine Office of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. He was called by Jean-Jacques Olier " the prodigy of his age".
"You must never separate what God has so perfectly united. So closely are Jesus and Mary bound up with each other that whoever beholds Jesus sees Mary; whoever loves Jesus, loves Mary; whoever has devotion to Jesus, has devotion to Mary."

The in-keeper
Saint Helena was called the in-keeper by St. Ambrose. The poor and destitute were the objects of her charity. Example of compassion and unconditional love.
